Yet, the deadliest fighting was still to come, with 90% of U.S. casualties occurring after this moment. Though defeat was inevitable, the Japanese forces refused to surrender, fighting fiercely to cause as much devastation as possible. This parallels our spiritual battles.
John 16 assures us that Jesus has already secured victory, but the enemy continues to wage war, seeking destruction. Just as the soldiers pressed on despite their certain victory, we must remain steadfast in faith, Trusting in the promise of Christ’s triumph over death.
